Police have been responding to a concern for safety at the A610 in Beeston and closed the road as a safety precaution.
Response officers and negotiators have been communicating with a woman and the incident has now reached a safe resolution.
A diversion was in place following the closure just after 6pm today (Sunday 18 April) and officers reopened the road just before 7pm.
Sergeant Richard Boam, who has been overseeing the incident, said: “The safety of motorists, pedestrians and other road users are our absolute priority when we respond to incidents on the highways and that is why the decision was made to close the road.
“Negotiators have been involved and we worked quickly to bring the incident to a safe conclusion.”
